Shiro Kuramata (1934 to 1991) was a Japanese designer whose work combined unexpected materials with a precise, poetic sense of form. Among his pieces are the Miss Blanche chair of artificial flowers set in resin, an umbrella stand that incorporates a walking stick, and the How High the Moon armchair in metal mesh, many of them still in production.
Deyan Sudjic's monograph covers all of Kuramata's work in two volumes held in a specially designed acrylic slipcase. This new edition adds a new introduction by Sudjic. Hardback, 312 by 242 mm, 406 pages.
