1872 The Masculine Perfume is a woody citrus of 219 ingredients, opening on zesty citrus, petitgrain, black pepper and nutmeg with touches of peach, lavender and rosemary. Its herbaceous heart centres on clary sage, said to have been used by Emperor Nero to fortify his troops, joined by jasmine, neroli and musk, before cedarwood and frankincense in the base. The emerald-green bottle recalls the Crown Perfumery Company, and 1872 marks the year Queen Victoria granted the crown that sits on every bottle. Eau de Parfum, 100 ml.
