Gio Ponti XL

Gio Ponti worked as an architect, designer and art director, and he was also an influential publisher. This large XL volume is scaled to the breadth of that work and gives equal weight to his role as a publisher and to his own designs, bringing text and image unusually close to the work itself.

The book was developed in close collaboration with his grandson Salvatore Licitra, who founded the Gio Ponti Archives in 1996. It includes texts by Lisa Licitra Ponti, Ponti's daughter and managing editor of Domus until 1979, and a long biographical essay by Stefano Casciani, with further contributions by Brian Kish and Fabio Marino. Karl Kolbitz is the editor. The hardcover has 572 pages in English.
