Brick: Mini Format

Brick traces building in brick across some five thousand years, from the Ziggurat of Ur to the present day. Its 180 examples include work by many of the leading architects of the past century, among them Alvar Aalto, Antoni Gaudí, Eero Saarinen, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, Jørn Utzon, Louis Kahn and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Each building is shown in one carefully chosen image with an extended caption. An introductory essay by the art historian and BBC television presenter Dan Cruickshank opens the book. Part of the Phaidon Minis series, this mini format hardback by William Hall measures 163 x 123 mm and has 368 pages.
